Sugar is the root of all evil!
I am not going crazy, but it's essentially true. You will also note that due to sugar consumption, there was slavery. Not just a servants but the first slaves were created to work in sugar fields. It's such an unnecessary evil in our lives. Thus, I have decided to reduce it considerably in the use of my foods and stick to a pretty intense whole foods diet, where fruits and purees will be used as sweeteners in order to replace refined garbage. It all starts with sugar. I have found that anything that is driven from that source is also unhealthy and essentially unnecessary in our diet. I look forward to freeing my body from the need to have refined and artificial sweeteners. Most of my problems have been resolved (such as allergies, asthma, fatigue, menstrual cramping, arthritis) by eliminating sugar from my diet. I don't expect everyone to come to this understanding, but I dare anyone to look at the labels of all the things that they're eating and look for the sugars that are within it. This includes things like corn products (dextrose, maltodextrose, etc). It's virtually impossible to eliminate these things from our lives, but I do have control over that which I purchase and I will no longer be feeding into the sugar-driven society and market that the food industry has tapped into. If you don't believe me, look at the number of diabetics in this country and world wide and the detrimental effects of prepared foods in our diet mostly because it's laced with sugar. It's unthinkable to see the number of people suffering from simple things that can be resolved through dietary changes are going to live on pills for the rest of their lives. I felt a blissful sense of freedom since coming to this great understaning. I would encourage all who are interested in exploring this in depth to begin by reading "Sugar Busters" and "Sugar Blues". Nothing has really changed since then, in fact I can honestly say that our society is supporting their findings. Wishing your freedom!- Magui
