The busyness
I can't believe how quickly the weekend flies or should I say an entire week went past and I'm still trying to capture what happened these past few days. I got to see my high school friend Sarah. She travels for the State Department as an interpreter. She spent 22 days with the same group of people that were learning about programs to help marginalized groups such as gangs. It all sounds very interesting. I feel as though the answer to everything lies within the bounds God has set for us. Otherwise, we are here making our own truths, understanding and interpreting life's idiosyncrasy according to our own perspective and needs, which is why we sink into deep depression because in the end there is no purpose other than the fact that we answer to a higher being, someone who is all knowing and omnipotent. Until we are humbled to that degree, we cannot find happiness.
Submitting to the will of the father is the lesson that I've come to understand. Once we do this, we lose ourselves for him and become greater, more efficient, more loving individuals. We come to love others in this life because of the bounds that God has set for us. We can beckon his call by accepting His son as our redeemer and our debts to God will be paid. The plan is simple, but our Pride tends to stand between us and the relationship that we have with our Father in Heaven. It's all too clear for me. I am grateful for the plan of redemption that was set for us prior to our mortal experience and that Christ came forth and gave his word to do the will of the Father.
Nevertheless, my week was spectacular, we accomplished lots and spent some time with Sarah. Kamilah was, in fact, enamored by her. She's got a good heart and children can sense that about her.
