We happened to watch general conference today. I am so grateful to have the opportunity to watch general conference from home now that the church posts it via the internet! It was wonderful, as always. I always feel quite edified by the Saturday messages. I noticed quite a heavy theme throughout this conference, and that was that the responsibility of teaching the main precepts and principles of the gospel are best conferred in the home. It's true! The closeness that we feel and the way that we can cater to each individual person of our family is unlike any other place, whether that would be school or church. I esp. wouldn't want to rely on society to teach my children the correct principles and standards of the world. I guess I pondered on what kind of person I would want to raise and the qualities that I possess that would shape this person's life. That would be a person who's responsible, mindful, moderate and passionate. I can see these qualities in those who are Christlike and who's countenances show peace, humility and love for one another. I am so grateful for this gospel and what it gives each of us in this life and I hope that I can be a source of strength for this family.
